dublin based singer-songwriter sean x releases melodic ode to his own pirate code 'xxx'

Dublin singer/songwriter Sean X has just published his new single, “XXX.” The single is the first release off his upcoming EP “Life of a Lonely Pirate” expected this July 2021.

With moody synths and hypnotizing vocal melodies that sit atop a driving beat, Sean X tells the story of the aftermath of a toxic relationship.

Sean X says, “My freedom was gone. I couldn't be myself anymore. The song is about the stage of realizing my self-worth and reconnecting with myself. Breakups during a pandemic are hard as there’s very little distractions to help you through it, but I did have time to learn about myself again.”

The song signifies an evolution in Sean’s music, maturing into the next stage of his journey. He also says that his true image and brand became clear during this pandemic and that music has kept him going throughout it.

The new chapter signifies living by his own pirate code, which encompasses freedom, adventure, and self-expression. Sean says, “Freedom is for me when I can express myself, with no holding back. I want to tell a story that people can relate to, to let others know that I understand, because I’ve been there too.”
Sean cites a myriad of musical inspirations, and describes his genre as X, as X can represent anything, and can change and evolve with the seasons.

“XXX” is self-produced, and was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Jungle Beam Studio with help from producer Simba.

Inspired by the Weeknd, Michael Jackson, and Bobby Brown, Sean X never shies away from expanding his limitless genre X. Sean has performed across the country including gigs at Electric Picnic, the Bold Motel Stage, and the Button Factory. Sean loves performing for meaningful causes, and was a part of a suicide awareness charity event entitled SUAS in the Workmans.
